Size Guide and Age
To be sure that the 20" bike is the right size for your little rider, use our size guide. By measuring the inside leg of your child, you can get an idea of the perfect size bike for them.
For example, the Gingersnap 20" is our bicycle for between the ages of 5-8 years. It's suitable for children with an inside leg length of 52-64cm, which is typical of that age range.
But we offer a wide range of kids bicycles, so don't be discouraged if your kid isn't the right size for the bike you had wanted.
In fact, our Gingersnap bike comes in sizes starting at 12" and going all the way up to 24" - so you're sure to find one that's right!
Bike Models
We offer our Gingersnap bicycle model for bigger kids in the 20-inch bike and 24-inch bicycle (for kids aged 7-11).
We've got even more options for younger kids bikes to accommodate the different ways kids can first learn to ride - by tricycle and balance bike.
By the time children fit our 20" model, there are more universal needs from a bicycle, which we provide in our Gingersnap.
It acts as the perfect bike for the transition into adult bikes while maintaining the charm of our kid's bicycles.
Training Wheels and Gears
The Gingersnap 20" is a kids bike with gears, allowing your child to learn a key cycling skill of judging which of the seven gears to use in different circumstances.
Because the bike offers the opportunity to learn to use gears, our Bobbin training wheels aren't compatible.
But, this also gives the chance for your child to perfect their balance skills.
Frame and Weight
Our gingersnap frame is made of steel, famously one of the most durable bike materials.
The bicycle altogether weighs roughly 11.5kg, so it can still be easily carried or pushed should your child decide to strike halfway through a family bike ride.
