If you’re meeting your child after school and they want their bike, it’s not always easy to know how to bring this to them when you’re on a bike yourself, and you definitely don't want to walk both.

One hand - Practice riding with one hand first before trying to cycle with two bikes. It’s important to make sure you’re stable.

Line them up - Line up both bikes next to each other before you set off, this is the easiest step and it’ll save you plenty of time.

Journeys - Try short trips first before you cycle long distances with two bikes.

Route - Choose the route that offers you the least amount of traffic and pedestrians.

Helmet - It’s hard to ride with two bikes, make sure you’ve protected yourself and you’ve put on your helmet.

Weather - Check the weather and adjust your route. If it’s windy, take a sheltered route.

Gloves - Especially if you’re cycling at night or in the winter, wear gloves to keep both hands warm.

Lights - If you’re riding at night, make sure both bikes have lights so they’re visible.

Roads - Stay off the road if you can, this way you don’t need to worry about cars and traffic.
