Assembling a Bobbin junior bike is really easy and fun. Please click here to view our step by step guide to assembling the bike.

The bike arrives in a box. The handlebars, front wheel, front mudguard, pedals and saddle must be attached.
For Bikes that included a basket, it is attached simply by the straps. Only the Gingersnap 24" comes with a basket support.
The box contains basic tools. You will also need scissors, pliers, a screwdriver and a pump.

Some things to note:

The basket is not machine made, it is hand woven from natural materials. Inconsistencies in weave, finish and colour are to be expected and are part of its charm.

Finding the correct size bike starts with measuring the legs. Take a measuring tape, place it on the floor inside the leg and measure upwards. Now check the chart below.

Always measure your child's inside leg and check our sizing guide before choosing the size. The age guides we give are only for general guidance, the height and inside leg are more important. If you're unsure about the sizing, contact us, and we can advise. It's important to buy a bike that your child can fit on. Our Junior bikes have plenty of room for growth, as saddles and handlebars can be adjusted easily.

It is unlikely that your child will be completely between wheel sizes, as there is some overlap between the sizes. For example, the Gingersnap 12" is for 33-43cm inside legs, and the Gingersnap 16" is for 40-54cm inside legs. Our Junior bikes have plenty of room for adjustment, with saddles and handlebars that can be adjusted easily. If in doubt, you can contact us for advice.

The 12" and 16" Moonbug and Gingersnap models include colour-matched stabilisers (training wheels). We do not provide training wheels for 20 and 24" wheel bikes, but you can purchase them for the 20" separately here or from other retailers.

Yes, you can purchase the Skylark stabilisers for the Brownie 20" bike separately here. These stabilisers have cream-coloured plastic wheels, silver painted arms and a bracket to attach to the bike. You can use them on other bikes as they should fit any single speed kids bike with a wheel size between 12"-20".

Your bike will be delivered to you partially assembled in a box. Assembly is really easy, and you can follow our instructions here. Assembly is normally done within 30 minutes, and basic tools are included with your bike. You will need scissors and a bike pump.

Bobbin bikes will fit most sizes, whether tall of petite. Don’t know your bike size? It’s really easy to find the correct fit by measuring your inside leg, from the sole of your foot to the inside of your thigh. Then check your height. To find your size, see our sizing chart here. Some of our adult bikes come in two sizes, others are one-size-fits all.

20-Inch Wheel Size and Frame

Our Brownie 20-inch bike is designed for kids around the age of 7 years old. This bike comes with traditional eath-toned colours of Caramel and Olive for the frame, which has been enhanced by the cream-trimmed wheels and traditional brown handlebars.

The frame itself is lightweight and made from alloy, which means it’s super long-lasting and easy to move, especially when it’s being used by kids. You’ll also get a chain cover to help keep the bike chain protected and intact as your child rides their bike.
